About Us

The name Babble & Bloom captures the heart of what we do: supporting children as they grow into confident communicators and emotionally resilient individuals, while empowering caregivers every step of the way.

Babble & Bloom brings together two key parts of early development: communication and emotional growth.

  • Babble represents the early sounds and connections that form the foundation of speech and language. Communication begins with coos, gestures, and first words, the building blocks that continue to support children as their language grows.

  • Bloom represents growth in all its forms, including executive functioning, emotional development, and everyday skills. It’s about helping children build the tools they need to regulate and find success at home, at school, in relationships, and in daily life.

What We Offer

Babble & Bloom provides pediatric speech, language, and behavior support for children and their families using play-based, neurodiversity-affirming approaches that focus on connection, communication, and everyday development.

Led by a speech-language pathologist with a background in behavior therapy and early childhood development, our goal is to help children grow their communication, confidence, and regulation through meaningful interactions, play, and daily routines.

We also offer free resources because long waitlists shouldn’t prevent parents from learning simple strategies that support their child today.

Whether you're looking for support with speech, language, or behavior, or you simply want to better understand your child’s development, Babble & Bloom is here to help you feel more confident and supported.

Let’s grow bright futures, together!

Jenna Allen MScSLP R.SLP

Registered Speech-Language Pathologist

Jenna founded Babble & Bloom in 2026 with the dream of fostering strong family relationships in Alberta. She believes that when communication and emotional connection are nurtured, children flourish, families grow stronger, and communities become more connected.

With a professional background spanning both behavior therapy and elementary education, Jenna brings a comprehensive perspective to communication. Children learn best through play and meaningful relationships, and so her approach is child-led, family-centred, and rooted in building trust with the children and caregivers she works with. She wants families to always feel welcomed, understood, and genuinely supported as they help their child grow in confidence, communication, and connection.

Areas of focus include: early communication, receptive and expressive language, AAC, speech sound development, motor speech, parent coaching, and neurodiversity-affirming support. She brings an understanding of behavior and executive functioning into her work, helping families look beyond surface-level challenges to better understand the communication, regulation, & environmental supports a child may need to thrive.

Additional training and background includes: Apraxia Unlocked through The Speech Path Mentor LLC, Hanen training (More Than Words), the Meaningful Speech Course with a focus on Gestalt Language Processing, The SCERTS® Model (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, Transactional Support), executive functioning research/training, and a professional background in both behavior therapy and elementary education.

  • Absolutely. Most extended health benefit plans in Alberta cover services provided by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist. This includes providers such as Alberta Blue Cross, Sun Life, and Manulife. To make things as easy as possible for your family, Babble & Bloom offers direct billing to many major insurance providers in Alberta. • It’s common for parents to wonder whether their child’s development is on track. Some signs families notice include a 12-month-old who isn’t yet pointing or waving, an 18-month-old with very few words, a 2-year-old who isn’t combining words, speech that is difficult to understand, or a child who seems to struggle with big feelings, behavior, or regulation.

An in-home visit with a Babble & Bloom speech-language pathologist can help bring clarity, answer your questions, and provide supportive next steps tailored to your child and family.

  • At Babble & Bloom, we practice neurodiversity-affirming care. This means we recognize and celebrate that every child’s brain works differently. Rather than focusing on “fixing” a child, we focus on building communication, connection, and supportive skills that help children thrive in their everyday lives.

We regularly support Autistic children and children with ADHD using strengths-based, play-based approaches that respect each child’s unique way of learning and communicating.
